Online Web Marketing - Is There a 'Hidden' Secret?

By Jenny Ferns

Unlike many internet marketers, I admit that 'Is there some 'hidden' secret to achieving online web marketing success?' is one of my favorite questions. I know that most marketers don't like being asked this question, but I do.

Let me explain both sides and maybe you'll understand my point of view. The reason that most marketers hate it is because the person asking is almost always looking for some smart 'trick' or 'gizmo' that will hand them instant online marketing riches on a plate.

They've read some sales page that offers them a 'magic bullet' or a 'hidden secret' that only costs $47 which guarantees overnight online marketing success. Put in these stark (and I admit slightly cynical) terms, I hope it's obvious that this can never have a happy ending.

No-one can guarantee anything on the net. Nevertheless, thousands of people all over the world fall for this 'pitch' every day. It's a given that if you start any kind of online marketing operation, the 'secret' of success is exactly the same as it would be in any other business venture.

What's necessary is a combination of hard work, organization, good planning, dedication and sometimes, a little bit of luck too. But this is where I take a different view to most other marketers.

If you are talking of online web marketing success with a business that is built on the central foundations of hard work, organization etc, I believe that there is a 'hidden' secret. The hidden secret is simple.

It's you, or more accurately, the attitude and characteristics that you bring to your business. In my studies of successful online business owners, I have noticed a remarkable synchronicity between the personal characteristics that all these extremely successful internet entrepreneurs exhibit.

For instance, every successful online marketer is a doer, someone who takes action rather than thinking about it. To the people who achieve success on the internet, procrastination is a dirty word!

They would for example rather take a new marketing idea and launch it even if it is untried instead of spending weeks or months trying to 'tweak' it to perfection. They know that there is no such thing as perfection and that if an idea (e.g. a product or service) is what the market wants, it will sell irrespective of how unrefined it might be.

Sell it first, tweak it later is the way an entrepreneur does it. Successful people visualize the person that they want to become too. They have a clear image in their mind of who they will be in the future and they practice fixing this image into their subconscious every day. By doing so, they force the all-powerful subconscious mind to accept this future vision as present reality. Hence, reality is exactly what it becomes.

The real online moneymakers take full responsibility for their actions, never blaming failures on anyone else either. They do this because they know that no matter how good you are, it is impossible to be right 100% of the time. It is therefore better to try something, make the mistake, accept responsibility for it and move on instead of wasting time with something that will never succeed.

Are you beginning to see what I mean about the hidden secret? Most marketers probably think that being a doer, hating procrastination and taking responsibility for your actions is not important.

From what I know of succeeding in online web marketing, I agree... these things are not important. They are absolutely, fundamentally mission-critical!

How to Get Your Website Indexed Quickly in the Search Engines

By Zaheer Fazal

It's no secret that the key to making money online is quality targeted traffic. Possibly the most cost effective way to achieve your goals is to obtain this traffic via natural or 'organic' search. Now before, we even attain any rankings, it is crucial to get your site indexed and listed in the search engines. Search engines have an online form which you can fill out to add your URL, however this can generally take weeks if not months. The most effective way is to get indexed via sites that have good authority and those which are indexed on a regular basis. This will allow the crawlers to visit your site quicker. Below are a few of the most popular techniques that are employed;

Article Directories
Because article directories such as EzineArticles have authority in Google's eyes, you will often find that once your article is approved, it tends to get indexed in Google within 24 hours. You can check this by typing site: "your article url". If this is displayed then chances are that Google has indexed your URL as well. It doesn't show up straightaway in some cases but you can almost be certain that the spiders have visited your site, this is assuming you have included the website link in your bio.

Forum Signatures
Signing up to high PageRank credible forums can get you indexed very quickly. Have personally signed up forums and had my URL indexed within 4 minutes, this isn't the norm but you can generally expect to be indexed within 24-48 hours.

RSS Submission
There are plenty of RSS directories where you can submit your XML feed to. This is a great way to get your site content picked up quickly.

Social Bookmarking
Sites such as Digg are loved by Google's crawlers and they tend to live on those pages. Its always a good idea to use social bookmarking as part of your indexing and backlinking strategy.

Web 2.0 Properties
Sites such as Hubpages and Squidoo are another example of credible sites that Google likes, it is also worth submitting your content to these. Not only do they help in getting indexed but can give you some much needed quality backlinks.

Pinging
Once you have submitted your URL to the various properties mentioned above, it is a good idea to 'ping' them. This is just a simple way of letting the search engines know that your site exists and acts as a gentle reminder. Pinging can be quite powerful so it is a good idea not to overdo this as it can get you banned for being a spammer. If you have a WordPress blog, this facility is built in.

Hopefully the above mentioned techniques should help you get indexed quickly in Google and various other search engines as well as give you some inbound links. To your success.

Facebook Marketing - Some Major House Rules

By Syvella Brantley

I think it is time to learn some of the Dos and Don'ts of Facebook. I am so tired of seeing people spamming and being disrespectful to people's wall. Social Media has become a world of its own and we really need to know how to manage and use it wisely, especially those who are business owners.

So, I have decided to put together a list that will help those who are new to Facebook and those who are veterans and breaking a lot of Facebook etiquette rules.

Facebook launched in February 2004 and is one the largest World Wide Social Media site on the Internet. They have over 300 million users and over half of them visit Facebook daily.

Dos:
- When requesting a friend always leave a note especially if the person doesn't know you personally. This will avoid the question "Who are you?"
- If you have a business, only speak of your business on YOUR wall, not others
- Give value and interesting information on your wall post
- Go easy on the updates, every five minutes is a bit much
- Use the chat service wisely; just because you see the green dot next to their name indicating they are online does not mean they are automatically available to chat.
- Choose wisely the type of photos that you share with your friends, I don't think pictures of you slapping someone one the butt would go over very well, especially if you are looking to business with them or if you are looking for employment
- Be careful in tagging people in pictures in videos they may be offended. If you do tag someone just make sure it's extremely positive and remove the tag upon request
- If you are not happy about being tagged, stay calm, and just un-tag yourself

Don'ts:
- Do not request friends and then harass them with your business or products. Instead build relationships and offer value to them
- Don't post your business opportunity or any other type of product/service on other peoples wall
- Don't poke anyone if you are over the age 18, it's just silly...LOL
- Don't start arguments with people on Facebook on your wall or on their wall, just sent them a private message expressing your feelings.
- Don't comment on someone's message with an advertisement or business opportunity.
- Don't post on your wall in all capital letters because it's considered shouting or loud tone of voice.
- Don't share all of your game scores with everyone all day long each and every day..this is very annoying
- Don't get upset over other people's opinion, just simply state yours and keep it movin'
- As we all like to receive gifts from our friends and family, the virtual gifts on Facebook can be annoying especially if you are sending them every day.

Syvella Brantley is an expert on Social Media Marketing and will happy to share with some additional training on generating free leads online using Facebook and other social media sites. Visit Syvella's Internet Marketing Blog for more details.

By Micheal Murphy

There is so much to know about list building that you might really be surprised at the number of things that you might have to consider to get the concept working in a way that can be beneficial for you. In many cases, the concept is never truly realized because the list was not built in the right manner or was incomplete in some way. If you perhaps learn all that there is to the list itself, it might perhaps become a little easier to get the list working like the way it is supposed to.

The first thing that you ought to ensure is that you have used the right kind of list buildings software to get the job done. After all, you wouldn't want to restrict people to only certain kind of things. In fact, providing options with the list can be beneficial in other ways as well. You might have to simply look for it and see in what way you can build on the list and make sure that it is in fact the kind that you might be happy to work with. In many cases, existing lists can actually be improved upon if you would just take a look at it and get the feedback from the people who might be using it.

Tips - Getting Your Email Opened

By Ben M Williams

With the possible exception of phone calls, email marketing is the still the number one way that most companies use to communicate with their prospects and customers. While social media tools are quickly providing alternative ways of communication, email is still the easiest and most understood mediums of communication, with the exception of phone calls. It may be a long time before this well-known medium takes a backseat to anything else. Even with social media, millions of people understand, use, and will continue to rely on email.

In this post, I am going to give you a few tips to increase your open rates.

  1. Call them by there name. This adds a more personal touch to the email, but don't use it too much, or it becomes a bit weird!
  2. Have a good, intriguing subject line. For more info on this, read my Subject Line Tricks
  3. Keep it short; in our fast-paced world, no-one has enough time in the working day to read an immensely long email. Keep it short, and to the point
  4. After you have wrote your email, re-read it 10 times, and take out any unneeded words, but make sure it still makes sense!
  5. Always make sure that the 'from' name appears. You can either put your companies name in here, or your own, if you want it to be even more personal
  6. Try and keep a sort of 'brand' with your subject lines, eg. enveloping it with {} or [] this means that people will see the subject line and they will know instantly it is from you

Hopefully this was helpful, send me an email if you have any feedback.

Free Marketing Methods to Drive Traffic to Your Website

By Mike Heesen

If you are an online marketer I strongly recommend you begin utilising the free marketing methods to drive traffic to your website. The free methods are a great alternative to the paid marketing methods. I absolutely love the free methods because they are very effective and residual. What do I mean by residual? It means that, once implemented and posted, they remain on the internet for as long as the internet is in existence! Unlike the paid methods, which are only visible on the internet for the duration you are paying for. Let me share with you some of the free marketing methods that you can use to drive traffic to your website.

Article Writing

Find some hot keywords or long tail keyword phrases that are related to your business and write an article about it. The article does not have to be all that long. Keep it short, about 400 words is sufficient. Write the article in such manner that it triggers the reader to want to find out more about your business. I personally post all my articles to ezinearticles as this website is by far the most popular and loved by Google.

Video Production

Another one of the great free marketing methods to drive traffic to your website is video production. It is pretty much the same as article writing but then with images and sound. Find some hot keywords or phrases and make a video about it. You could either opt for recording yourself talking about a particular business related subject, or you could put together a nice 'n short slideshow presentation. If you are a MAC user you can use iMovie (pre-installed). For the PC users out there you could use MovieMaker (pre-installed). Once you have your video ready you can post it to YouTube or other video sites.

Blogging

I personally love blogging. It's easy and effective. You can put together a blog in less than 10 minutes. Go to a blog site such as Blogger, get an account and create a blog about your business or business related topics. Using free marketing methods to drive traffic to your website is only effective if you use related keywords and or phrases.

Social Media Marketing

This free marketing method can also be extremely powerful to drive traffic to your website. Get yourself an account with some of the social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Squidoo, Bebo, Hi5, etc. Create a profile page and include some info about yourself, your interests, hobbies and include a link back to your own website. Keep in mind though that you are engaging into Social Media and not Business Media. Refrain from throwing your business into peoples faces as they won't appreciate it. Post interesting things that are business related, or post things related to your hobbies and interests. The key here is to find like minded folks with common interests. By doing so, people will contact you, asking about what business it is you are engaged in. Provided you are utilising the free marketing methods to drive traffic to your website in a professional manner, people will come to you. So instead of being the hunter, you are the one that is hunted. The above methods are very useful provided you have conducted proper keyword research and analysis.

2 Ways to Build a Mailing List Fast With Free Reports

By Denise Million

Giving away free reports is a super way to build a targeted and responsive mailing list. The money is in the list is as true as the day someone first said it.

Two ways of using free reports to build a targeted mailing list.

1. Offer your report in exchange for an opt-in

After a person signs up to receive your free report, you can send them to a one time offer page where you can make some money on one of your products or an affiliate product. Many people, since they are already interested in your subject, will take you up on this offer but even if they don't buy right then, you can follow up with more offers since you now have their contact information.

The way to get the most people to opt in to your list is to make sure your free report is about a topic that they have great interest in...they feel they just have to have it and it's free so it's an easy decision to get it. Believe it or not, you have to sell free stuff just the same as if it were a paid for product so make sure you write some persuasive copy on your opt in page to draw them in and make them want your free report.

Your free report should be high quality and relevant and of real value to your readers. Make it as good as if you were being paid for it.

2. Place a link back to your opt-in page report

This is a technique that has been used quite successfully. You let people download your report without requiring them to opt-in first. Inside your eBook you'll want to include a link back to one of your websites where people can then sign-up to your list.

The reason why this method can be so effective is that it firstly builds up some trust with the visitor. People download your report, read it, like it, and then want to opt-in for more.

Since so many people are more cautious about giving out their email address, the fact that you are not requiring their contact information makes this an easy decision if the topic is one of interest to them. Your free report is a good way to build trust with a new visitor as long as you provide useful quality content.

No matter what method you choose to use, you want to get started building your mailing list now. You will find that free reports are one of the best ways to grow your list. This should be a priority if you want more website visitors to turn into buyers.

Promote Your Business With Perfect Email Newsletters

By Jack Johson

Email marketing is unique form of marketing strategy used by the marketers to obtain fruitful results. This form of promotion fetches more customers from across the world. It also brings the customers in direct touch with the marketer. You can promote customer loyalty towards the company. The advantage with this form of marketing is that you can also retain the present customers and fetch new ones and this widens the customer base of the enterprise. One can establish the brand image of the company not only in the domestic but also foreign market.

There are two kinds of mail sent to the customers of the organization. A marketer sends advertisement copies to the prospective or present customers. These mails contain the message that aim at immediate sales of the product and service of the enterprise. Another kind of message is an email newsletter. This type of message aims at promoting the image of the company among the customers. The main reason behind sending such a message is to pave way for long term relationship between merchant and the customers. A newsletter does not aim at immediate selling of the products but seeks to build positive and everlasting brand image of the company. As the name suggests the newsletter contains the latest updates of the company. These messages make the potential customers aware of the latest developments of the organization. The reason of sending the newsletters is to keep in touch with the customers. By remaining in their sight and mind you can promote customer loyalty among them.

How to create a perfect newsletter?

There are various factors to be kept in mind while creating effective and impressive newsletters. You should first decide the kind of message that you want to convey to the target audiences. Accordingly you can work on the designing of the newsletters. A marketer should highlight the heading in bold letters. One can even use color on the fonts of the heading. You should write fresh and unique content for the newsletters. In this kind of message, you can use comprehensive and useful information as the text. How to Make Money on Internet Like an Expert - Curious? Take a Look

By Brad Stridgeon

We humans are peculiar animals! It is human nature to be curious and everyday we fall prey to it. Nobody likes humdrum days and weeks melding into a soggy mess, so our curiosity ensures that we get a much needed injection of excitement and certain things get our attention. Whether this be controversial stories, red hot gossip, or watching a group of people stuck in a house, who have no contact with the outside world, for eight weeks.

I know what you are thinking! I am supposed to be telling you how to make money at home online. Well gurus use curiosity to sell their products. In today's world when are jobs feel as safe as a carcass with vultures hovering above, there are growing numbers of people turning to the web who are highly curious to find out about the 'secrets' of how to make money on internet.

Gurus are not so different to us. In fact the only difference is they know and practice what works and earn or make money online. And it's not really a secret at all. Gurus understand to sell their products that they need to appeal to peoples emotions, whether this involves shocking, scaring or arousing our curiosity.

For example, often their sales letters will ask you about the consequences of losing your job and then describe all the trials that will befall you if this happens, so much so that you are compelled to buy their product to protect your future. If you take a look at a handful of gurus' web pages, you will be told how they were once in your situation and now look at them, as they have completed their journey to make money at home online and no longer need to struggle.

Actually, in many cases they will tell you that they have hit rock bottom and been in far worse situations than you and I. You will hear the rags to riches stories from homeless to millionaire, or how they had their turning point in jail, or how they coped with really low paid jobs and then hit it big time on the internet. By sharing this information with you, they are identifying with you and your feelings. In turn this makes you curious to find out more about how they earn or make money online.

Another use of curiosity that expert internet marketers utilize to earn or make money online is getting us to open their emails. It is quite likely that you get a mass of emails everyday, do you open all of them, or just the ones that make your curious to read more? I bet it is the second of these options. Next time you reading your emails, take a note of the subjects, and think about what makes you open them. More often than not the answer will be because you are curious to see an answer to a question posed in the subject.

Such is the power of using curiosity in your marketing efforts. Other successful internet marketers will differentiate themselves by being controversial - saying outrageous things, being funny or just refreshingly different from all the other people promoting at you day in and day out. People that provide good information week in and week out in a friendly way or use humor to sell by making an ass of themselves. This kind of thing helps you make money at home online.

This is not as hard as it seems to achieve. You might be bombarded with the message that nothing is new, but really it all comes down to being unique. The good news is that everyone is unique, you have a unique sense of humor, you know what people like you feel, so harness that uniqueness and create a presence that makes people curious to find out more. Take this advice and you will be well on the way to learning how to make money on internet.

TVI Express Review - is TVI a Legitimate Business Opportunity?

By Kendra Manning

With all the buzz people are wondering Is TVI Express A Legitimate Business Opportunity?
TVI or Travel Ventures International is headquartered in London, England within the United Kingdom. The company launched in India, China, and Europe in January 2009 and has just recently hit the United States. According to the website, the goal of this company is to provide travel and hospitality products and services as well as offering a built in compensation structure to give MLM distributors a chance to earn extra income.

When I looked into this company, I will admit that they have a very professional webpage. I have seen numerous sales videos from the company and I must say they are all put together very well.

The company claims to help you every step of the way in this business by providing your own Website, Personal Back Office, Downline Progress Reports, Internet and Offline Marketing Tools.

The cost to join TVI Express is anywhere from $250-$300 depending on who you purchase your voucher from. This a one time out of the pocket expense for a lifetime membership and does not include any recurring charges.

After you join, the first thing you need to do is then invite and sponsor two people into TVI Express. This will qualify you to cycle out of the matrix boards and progress in the Compensation plan. You then need to encourage and teach these two people, whom you have sponsored, to each invite, encourage and teach 2 others. Then duplicate the process over and over.

The compensation plan is what is known as the revolving matrix. Upon joining TVI Express, you are placed on what is called the "Traveler's Board." Once the board is full with 15 members it splits, paying out $250 cash and another $250 eVoucher to the person at the top of the board.

Once the person at the top of the board has sponsored two people they are then promoted to the "Express Board."

The "Express Board" works the exact same way as the "Traveler's Board" only it pays out significantly more if you make it to the top, $10,000 cash plus a $5,000 travel voucher. Once you reach the top of the "Express Board" and cycle off, earning your $15,000, you then get re-entry onto the "Express Board".

So overall, the company appears to be a good business opportunity, with a low start up cost. With only a $250 one-time investment, even if you don't make your money back, you are guaranteed a voucher for a 6 night, 7 day vacation. So to answer the question: Is TVI Express a legitimate business opportunity? I would have to say yes it is...BUT.....

What concerns me is the fact that these sort of compensation plans eventually run out of money once the market gets over saturated. I think that those who joined right away will make their money and possibly even lots of it, but I am not so optimistic for those who join later on. I personally do not see this as long term income potential.

Although it is only required to sign up two people it is obviously beneficial if you can sign up more. It is extremely important that in order to succeed at this or any business, you know how to effectively market and generate leads. Plenty of people fail simply because they do not know or understand how to market or build their business.

Getting More Website Traffic - Secrets to Finally Getting Thousands of Visitors to Your Site

By Jason Nyback

Everyone wants to get more and more website traffic & the reality is that if you want to make six figures a year from your online marketing you are going to have to get at least a few thousand visitors a month to your site. In this article I want to show you the right way to making this happen...

Getting Thousands Of Visitors To Your Site The Right Way...

The biggest mistake that most people make when they are trying to drive traffic to their site is they follow systems that no longer work. A few years ago you could drive visitors to your site from Google AdWords for $0.05 a click. I remember being able to get over 50,000 visitors a month to my site and never paying more then $0.05 a click.

The problem is those days are long gone. But there are still a lot of people who are trying to use this strategy and are basing their whole profit model on making this happen.

Here Is The Right Way To Get Thousands Of Visitors To Your Site:

#1 - You have to focus on one traffic system until you master it. You need to diversify, but you first have to master one thing and do it well. Never move to another traffic system until you have fully outsourced the one that you are working on.

#2 - Once you have outsourced the first system that you have mastered; find another one and do the exact same thing.

#3 - Make sure you have an extremely profitable sales funnel that will allow you to maximize your profits.

You have to realize that the better you are at getting people to buy from you, the less traffic you need to achieve your goals.

What if you can't get more website traffic? Here's a "secret snowball traffic system" that has generated over 1,175,000 visitors for my tiny websites. Click Here Now to get this free video that will show you how to make it happen for your sites. http://www.jasonnyback.com

Online Marketing Strategies - Forum Marketing

By David Storer

What does it takes to make your website stand out amongst the trillions out there? It does not matter if you are an individual doing some home-based online business. Or a small business looking for an additional channel to get the revenues in. We all want to get visitors to have a look at what we are offering. Or maybe, wanting maximum exposure for that hot new marketing campaign that we had just come out with. Of all the online marketing strategies available, let us look specifically into one, forum marketing.

Forum marketing is akin to THAT topic that we have had during dinner with our family and friends. It is also something more like, "Hey, have you seen that.... OR maybe.. 'Hey, have you tried that....." If we had ever had that kind of conversations, then we sure know that the opinions are real and definitely influential.

That is forum marketing in essence. But how do we get everyone online to talk about our company, blog, products and services we may ask? That is where online forums come in. There are many different types of forums or communities online. Firstly, we must know what type of exposure we want to get. As there are many online forums out there, it is easy to get into a wrong one.

The wrong forum would be like being in the wrong community for our business. We wouldn't want to be reading comments and how-to's about roses when our website offers the best fishing sites! It would be like us dining each meal in fast food restaurants and advocating healthy living. We can start by asking our internal customers which online communities they hang out at. Our employees, suppliers, colleagues are the best bet to begin with.

Once we have identified that, we then need to ensure that the forum is 'alive'. We wouldn't want the forum to be like sitting in a Bingo game. Everyone pretty much keeps quiet, mind their own business and only after some time, we hear 'Bingo!' from one corner of the hall. An active forum should have new posts continuously being added daily and it would be far better if there is an expert on the topic giving his comments as well. That can only add to our marketing research on what our targeted consumers actually want.

The replies and comments within the forum cannot be automated. That essentially means we have to put in the time and effort to read and sift through each one. After doing that, we would most likely have the urge to jump in and reply to each and everyone's comments. Doing that would simply make us a 'know-it-all', and such characters do not really fit well in a social gathering. What would be better however, is firstly to create a credible user name. Then look through the forum and have a 'feel' of it.

After which, we can start a general introduction, in a sociable manner, and start by giving some background information. Move on from there. By adding to others comments and thoughts and once you are an active member, you will have more comments and link to introduce.

With all this information, look into it and imagine that being in an online forum is akin to that dinner conversation with family and friends and that is what, forum marketing, one of the lesser-known online marketing strategies is all about.

Driving Traffic to Your Website With YouTube

By Dennis Mike

YouTube is unquestionably the number one video website on the internet, and follows the Google in terms of search volume. Let me run some quick numbers to show how HUGE is YouTube as a source of potential website traffic. YouTube went from 0 to to 4,000,000,000 MONTHLY visitors within 3 months. More than 75,000 new videos are uploaded every single day and over 100 million videos are watched every day. In January 2009 a survey conducted in US shows that 147 million U.S. internet users watched an average of 101 videos per person. As of March 2009, YouTube reached 100 million viewers in US alone. YouTube ranks fourth in the most visited website in alexa.com statistics.

Those numbers mean only one thing, YouTube a huge source for potential website traffic. If you're not using YouTube to market your website or your blog, you are missing a lot opportunities. YouTube is a powerful tool in promoting your website. But the question is how? Here's how you can use YouTube more effectively in your internet marketing efforts.

Step 1: Create a video related to your niche

Create a video related to your niche and suited to the type of target audience you intend to create the video for. If your target audiences are teens or college students, colorful and "MTV" type video are the best to capture their attention. A D-I-Y videos are great if your niche is in household stuff. A more classic presentation will suit the professional and working market.

Think of a video that would tease and attract your target market. Your videos should be short but the message is clear. Avoid making videos of more than 5 minutes, as people are busy and look for instant gratification most of the times.

Make them curious, if you can, try to shock and move people out of their usual indifference. Make sure that you are clearly identifying yourself with the video. Your video should have your logo or your company name. You can place your website URL at the bottom of the video, so your viewer can follow you to your site.

Step 2: Go for strategic placement of your video in the Web

The best way is to get your video in the "Featured Videos" section of YouTube. Featured videos usually stay in this section for about a week and often receive hundreds of thousands views over the days and weeks that follow. With a strategic placement of your videos in YouTube will raise people's interest and would get them to watch your video. This is where viral marketing would start to work. Your videos will be watched and passed on by more and more people.

Quality and promotion is important in this aspect.

Step 3: Build a backlink to your website

YouTube has PageRank of 9 out of possible 10. YouTube is good way in getting a strong backlink. By creating a full-fledged profile and including a link to your company website in it, you can transfer your increased exposure on YouTube to increased traffic to your site, or your blog, or to any other content that you have created. But you have to avoid a direct sales pitch on your video. Too much marketing is frowned by YouTube. Be subtle in promoting your site or your product.

3 Requirements For Effective Marketing Campaigns

By James J Higgins

When small businesses execute online marketing campaigns such as banner ad campaigns, search engine marketing campaigns, or email campaigns, success is often measured without a proper digital strategy to judge upon. Many times, marketers execute a campaign without, first, understanding who they are targeting and why. Of course, there are always several necessary elements that contribute to the success of any online marketing campaign-such as a good offer and a compelling call to action. Yet, even with these components, when a campaign has run its course and a business or organization looks at the results of their efforts, what truly defines success?

Is success measured in numbers? Does a 100% click-through rate equal success?

Perhaps 1,000,000 people request more information on your product or service. Would that be a strong indicator of a successful campaign?

With any marketing campaign-whether online, mobile, print, radio, or television-there is a desired response, change in perception, or behavior. Often times the response may not be immediate, but rather the culmination of several impressions over the course of time. If the desired response to your campaign is clicks generating visits to your website, a 100% click-through rate sounds unbelievable, but what if the people clicking on your ad, opening your email, or visiting your website were not your desired customer? What if all of those visits are the wrong people?

This leads us to our requirements.... An effective online campaign is one that motivates the right people to take right action at the right time.

An elderly woman with no children clicking on an ad for a sports training camp and requesting information is the wrong person taking the right action at the right time.

A mom who clicks on your ad, reviews your website, writes down your phone number and calls for more information about an open house at your sports training camp 2 weeks later may be the right person taking the wrong action at the wrong time.

A mom who clicks on an ad, fills out a form to sign up for an open house at your sports training camp that very moment is the right person taking the right action at the right time.

This is critical for any marketing campaign, but particularly one seeking a direct response. Even with television or radio, this holds true. If the right people hear your ad for sizzling dinner specials at your new restaurant and those potential customers all just finished eating dinner, your campaign will not be as effective had the spot aired during the drive home when everyone was still hungry. Likewise, if you run a high-end restaurant and the only people that see your magazine ad are deal-seeking consumers with shallow pockets, your campaign will not be as effective.

This is nothing new and something every marketer should know. A huge response to a campaign by the wrong people or by the right people at the wrong time is a giant waste of money. An effective campaign gets you the right people at the right time doing what you want. This is why online marketing campaigns perform so well for any size business. With online marketing, we can get closer than ever to knowing "who" we're talking to, where the conversation is happening, and when the conversation is happening (real-time)-making it much easier to get the right people to take the right action at the right time.

So, while the Internet makes it easier to meet these requirements, it's up to marketers to appropriately target their audience and deliver messaging that motivates desired behavior. Without meeting these requirements, your success is left to chance.

Pay Per Click Advertising - "Must Know" Secrets For Successful PPC

By Wolf Benedict

This article presumes you know what PPC is. If not, Google it and find definitions for yourself. You can find some pretty decent explanations out there.

Pay-per-click advertising, or PPC, is one of the most effective ways to get the message out about your product or service. Google is the premiere platform for this, but Yahoo should not be ignored in your marketing arsenal. Using PPC, you can get extremely targeted, high converting people to your website, IF you use the right keywords and word your ad in an appealing way.

In this post (and subsequent ones), I will show you how to create a PPC campaign that not only attracts, but CONVERTS when people land on your page. I will show examples below.

First, in order to have a successful PPC campaign, and like with any advertising, you must know your audience and target. You must know what they are searching for and what keywords they are using to find it. I go over how to find out what people are looking for within other articles here on Ezine Articles.

As a basic recap, you have to get into your customers shoes. Think of what search phrases you would use if you were buying your product or service. As an example, let's say you sell barbecue grills. Some phrases you may enter in the search engine are "cheap bbq grills" or "gas powered bbq".

Narrow it down to keywords they are using to find what they want using this "in their shoes" method. Write down these keywords on a list. You are going to use them in your PPC campaign.

A Google or Yahoo PPC "how to setup a campaign" would be beyond the scope of this post, and there are plenty of tutorials on how to do this in their respective platforms. For the purposes here, I will assume you have a campaign set up already.

Here are the "secrets" to a successfully run PPC campaign:

1) Set a daily budget limit. This may be obvious, but sometimes beginners overlook this crucial element and get positively KILLED.

For example, both Yahoo and Google have "daily limits" you can set on how much you'd like to spend on your clicks, whether it's $30 a day or $3000. It's up to you.

The option that leaves lots of people in the dust when they aren't paying attention is the "no daily budget" option. You pay for however many clicks you get without a budget limit. In other words, you haven't put a cap on how much you can spend in a day.

For beginners especially, it is very important you put a cap on it until:

A) You know what you are doing with PPC (have mastered it)

B) Have enough money to spend on virtually unlimited campaigns (money to burn).

For now, put a limit on your daily spending budget. PPC can get pretty expensive pretty quickly. You will get killed if you don't know what you are doing. Set your budget according to what you deem appropriate.

2) Use keywords related to major keywords. In any market, there is the potential for saturation. This holds true for keywords, too. Unless you are involved in marketing something completely alien to most people and targeted to an extremely small niche, you are going to have vast amounts of competition for certain keywords.

For instance, "annuity buyer" is a TREMENDOUSLY competitive keyword phrase and the clicks generate up to $100.00 per click!

Not many new or veteran marketers would be willing to shell out this amount of money per click. This is why it's important to experiment and find alternative keyword phrases for your ads. For example, instead of anuity buyer, you could use:

annuity purchases

buying annuities

how to buy an annuity

annuity documents

annuity laws

best annuity lawyers

These are just a few and they're off the top of my head, and they MAY be less expensive than the $100/click phrase above. You get the idea. Experiment, be creative and most importantly, TEST.

3) Create a compelling ad that sells the click, NOT the product!

This is a huge distinction and I could write a whole post on this alone since it delves straight into the art of copywriting. For now, you should strive to create an ad that sells the click, not what you are selling. Example:

Want to Sky Better This Winter?

I Have Something For You

Coolest Techniques and Gear For

Hardcore Skiiers - Visit Now

PutYourDomainLinkHere.com

This ad above targets an audience, creates curiosity and provides a call to action ("visit now"). You haven't told anyone what you are selling, but you have effectively targeted the skiing niche. You've also mentioned techniques and gear which gives them SOME idea of what you are talking about, but not the whole picture.

By the way, if your niche is skiing, I dare you to use the above ad. Let me know how it turns out.:-) The ad itself may be too long, so it may require modification. Just make sure the ad message fits your landing page - a very important attribute we will go over in the next part of this PPC series.

Part 2 should be coming shortly!

Website Traffic Tips - Why Using Multiple Online Visitor Sources Can Actually Ruin Your Business

By Jason Nyback

A lot of people think that the key to success online is using multiple sources of website traffic at the same time. In this article I want to show you exactly why you need to avoid this strategy when you are starting out.

The Myth That People Believe About Getting Traffic...

Everyone wants to get a lot of traffic to their site and they think that using a lot of sources at the same time is a good thing. The problem with this is you get so diversified you can't get good at one thing and do one thing well.

You have to realize that to get really good at AdWords, you have to focus on it and figure out the systems and secrets. Most people just focus on getting 20 or so visitors a day from AdWords and then move on to the next source on their list. Eventually they are getting 20 visitors a day from 10 different sources.

The problem with this is you can't do this in an automated fashion. You always have to be fixing problems and you will never get ahead of it all.

Here Is How To Get Traffic The Right Way:

#1 - You need to focus on one source until you have mastered it and have figured out how to get as much traffic as humanly possible.

Once you have learned all the secrets that the source has & have figured out how to get more visitors then anyone else in your niche market - then move onto the next source.

#2 - Make sure the first traffic source that you are using is totally automated before moving on!

You want to make sure it runs without you so you don't have to be spending all your time fixing it & working it. You can then just focus on building another layer of visitors and keep doing this until you have 20 different sources working for you.

But if you do it the way I told you, you will have built your traffic machine the right way.

What if you can't get more website traffic? Here's a "secret snowball traffic system" that has generated over 1,175,000 visitors for my tiny websites. Click Here Now to get this free video that will show you how to make it happen for your sites. http://www.jasonnyback.com

Email Marketing Secrets - Common Rookie Mistakes

By Julian Hooks

Over the last ten years email marketing secrets have changed dramatically. Part of the reason for this is various changes in laws and technology have meant that the nature of this form of marketing is constantly adapting. To be as effective as possible requires that you follow time tested principals that are within the legal bounds of the law.

Change is Constant

The biggest change that occurred to email marketing was the passage of the CAN SPAM Act. This is a law that restricted how and when different internet marketers can send unsolicited email. The most notable distinction was the fact that this law required anyone who is building email lists to establish an opt in. This is when someone voluntarily decides to receive future email from web sites that they are interested in. To effectively market your web site through email requires that you have an opt in list that visitors who are interested in what you have to offer can receive free information. By using such a strategy as the core of your e-mail marketing campaign will help ensure that you are using the various email marketing secrets to their fullest.

Focus

The most annoying thing to internet users is not keeping your emails to the people on your opt in list focused. What happens is many people will often send out emails to subscribers on their opt in list, yet many of these same subscribers opt out of receiving information from this web site. To avoid this kind of situation requires that you always keep the topic of your emails focused on the subject while providing useful information. This is one of the keys of the various email marketing secrets that will help to effectively build a large opt in list of possible customers.

Clearly the internet is changing the way that people live and work. In case of email marketing, to be successful requires that you use those email marketing secrets that will help you to effectively reach a targeted audience of people who are interested what you have to offer. This is how you will help your business to effectively grow over the long term.
